I just got very mad when I saw that he lived. Does that make me bad? :O I can definitely understand why you would be. XD Although the Megamind/WMG page on TVTropes predicted that there was at least a 50/50 chance that he'd survive. (TVTropes was right: superheroes never stay dead. xD) In fact, I think this actually helps explain how the ray seemed to incinerate everything but a skeleton and his cape (which I'd always thought was suspicious).

It was one of these three things: 1. It was a trick and Metroman threw a fake skeleton with his cape.*wouldn't explain his new guitar thing* 2. It really did vaporize him but the ray had a side effect which brings the person back to life after a skeleton is left alone but it took away his powers thus giving Metroman a reason for his new "power" 3.The ray was aimed wrong and hit another person with a cape......no wait that doesn't make sense. I put my bet on the second.

Ehh, I'm going with choice #1. I gathered from the latest trailer that he'd been wanting to trade being a superhero for being a musician for a long time now, so it's likely that he'd been waiting for a chance to bluff his "weakness against copper" and be "destroyed" by one of Megamind's latest weapons just as a way to slip out of the public eye. (After all, imagine how people would react if he'd simply come out and said that he's giving up his role as Metro City's great protector to play music.) He was probably going to hide out only long enough for his "death" to become old news, and for his hair and beard to grow out so he could maybe pass for a completely different man. Hey, if Superman could get away with a pair of glasses...
Still doesn't explain where the skeleton came from. Ah well, November's getting pretty close now. We'll have our answers soon enough. (Although, in my case, it'll be from the Junior novel... I'm allergic to theaters.)
EDIT: TVTropes brought up an interesting possibility too:

Oh, I have no idea. I'll have to wait until my novelization comes in the mail to be sure. (Pfft, I'm pathetic. |D; ) Yes, I'm gonna go by the Junior Novelization until the DVD comes out, because I'm allergic to theaters. XC Also... I don't know how many of you have already seen this comic, but OMG YOU GOTTA READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY IT IS SO FUNNY! megamind.com/comic/

My pleasure. :3
Btw, Roxanne's already getting flak around DeviantArt. Mostly for being "ugly", evidently.

Roxanne? Ugly? For serious? They're just Jealous that she has Megamind to herself.
