Just saw it in Imax 3D again tonight. My theory was right, the Imax 3D is much better than regular 3D- the fact that it's on such a large screen and almost no annoying previews certainly helped make the experience all that much better. Still, I think this a movie that can be totally enjoyed in 2D, so my advice would be to go see it in that, or, if you're curious about the 3D, go see it in Imax.
Plus the movie was like, twenty times more awesome the second viewing. :3 I just wish the other viking teens had more screen-time.

Yeah, it was like Kung Fu Panda. There wasn't that much screentime for the others in the group. D: And I know this is an old article, but I suddenly felt the desire to look up more about MegaMind, and I found this footage screening description of the beginning of the movie. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=62411

Hm, that's very interesting! Sounds pretty funny, too- especially with the exchange of super-hero cliche lines. ;D

"Justice is a non-corrodible metal!" Yes. I want to see that exchange very much. :O
I was actually suprised to find out MegaMind is actually an alien. (Which makes the similarities between him and Gallaxhar more notable.) I swear, I just thought it was some guy who spent way too much time on his costume. I guess they're going for making fun of old sci-fi movies/tv shows that had those cheesy costumes.
I'm guessing we can expect a trailer for that by next month when Shrek Forever After comes out.

Update, kinda. Have you guys heard of Dreamworks' newest film Gil's All Fright Diner? It's based on a book. I'm guessin' it'll be released in three years or so. Here was the author's response to it.

I know I kinda missed the bus on this, but I finally saw How to Train Your Dragon today. Very much impressed by most of it. The one thing I couldn't stand was Astrid. Her development was just too sudden and drastic in my opinion. That, and I felt she kinda went the opposite way she should have. She actually got less likeable as the movie progressed.
But who cares about the female lead? It was a boy and his dog movie, so the focus rightfully went to Hiccup and his dragon. By the way, did anyone else notice Hiccup is a lefty? The only time he does anything right-handed is when he's holding a weapon (which he clearly doesn't know how to use).
It was rather predictable, but there were still a few twists that caught me off guard (that little detail in the ending for example). That climax had to be my favorite part.
I'm trying not to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, but good lord it was awesome!
So... Just to catch up here. Megamind looks cool (kinda wish they kept Ubermind as the title, but whatever). Looking forward to Despicable Me ("It's so FLUFFY!" was priceless). This monster diner movie (Gil's I think it was?) sounds interesting, considering the source material is much more mature than the stuff Dreamworks has animated so far.

Isn't Dispicable Me a Blue Sky title?I'm pretty sure I didn't see dreamworks when I saw a commercial for it in theaters.

Oh, it's actually from Illumation Entertainment, and is considered Universal's debut into computer-animated films. Your picture was awesome! Haha. Do one for Gru. He looks just like The Penguin. ;)
