Chiro here!
I say my favorite is DR.C/SUSAN!!!
Link/Susan: Nope... I don't think it fits.... B.O.B/Jello: EPIC WIN!!! O.o
I mean... Dr.C is into her!! I mean, "Cat's Me-WOW!" phrase! He's calling her "My Dear!!" They were both humans!! I mean, COME ON!!! ...... I'm sorry... xD!!! They are just ADORABLE together.
(P.S Bolt and Mittens is DEFINITELY a good couple too, Twitter. xD)

I think Dr. C was just being his normal charming self and made a lame joke that no one else laughed at but himself, but that's just me. XD

I do have to say that the fact that Dr. C and Susan were both human scores them a point. They would have more in common with each other than the others.

I think Dr. C was just being his normal charming self and made a lame joke that no one else laughed at but himself, but that's just me. XD You know, I kinda hafta agree. Everyone pulls that one out as the "OMG he's so into her!" proof, but I don't quite see that as the moment when his secret love for her is betrayed. Also, at that point, she's right in the middle of Derek Rant #3975 (okay, maybe not, but ever notice how Link rattles off the Fresno speil earlier when they're still in The Area? She must've talked about Derek all the time, and really, nothing puts a crimp in one's designs on a girl like the fact she's professing to be taken already), so at the most, Dr. C's being encouraging that she's already accepted as she is. In his adorably dorky way. Ah, listen to me... I ship them, for heaven's sakes! I'm a little skeptical about some of the "subtext," though. I have my own reasons for liking them as a couple, but I don't think it was the great secret romance of the film. I will admit that I got some shippy vibes from the ever-popular "My dear, whoever you are, you'll always be--" scene in Gallaxhar's ship. I think it's something to do with how tactile he is with her there... It just does something to me. *flustered sigh* Also, I'm weirdly into the moment on the bridge when she's prying the claw open and he scurries up her and onto the robot. I was into that moment before I decided I shipped them. Really, anything with them actually physically touching kinda gets me, and I don't know why. That's probably why I'm ficcing them with all kinds of tactile issues. I'm such a freak... *self-consciously rubs back of neck* I'm sorry, I wander off topic and over-analyse a LOT.

^ Agreed. About the whole "Cat's Me-wow" joke subtext thing, not about the over-analyzing thing (because you can NEVER over-analyze something! At least, not normally, that is :3).
I also agree about the "My dear, you'll always be---" line being the more shippy-moment in the movie. And I'm not saying that because I initially thought Cockroach was going to kiss her in that scene, nope, nope I'm not. Also, the more I think about it, the more I see the Cockroach/Susan relationship as more Father-daughterly than smitten geek/sweet girl...ish. Mostly because Cockroach is like, about, sixty years older than she is (he was captured as an adult, the youngest he could've been would be 20, I believe) and while I don't think he's aged quite a lot since then, biologically speaking, mentally, he appears to be a little too old for her. Maybe. I'm not saying that Cockroach couldn't be in love with Susan, but I don't think he's quite as smitten as everyone thinks he is.

Okay, thank you, Nobility. I really think you're right about the father/daughter vibes. I remember you mentioning that on the FFN boards and immediately nodding and agreeing there.
But like I said, I have my own reasons for liking them as a couple, which don't have to be canon in my twisted little shippy world!
But thanks for bringing up the point about the age difference, too. It's not really a hinderance to their friendshippy/family relationship, but to a romantic one, I see it causing at least some sense of pause on one or both of their parts.
Of course, I have a long, long history of being obsessed with older male/younger female ships, so that's, like, an attractive force for the couple to me. Anyway, I've always hoped for their romantic relationship to develop over the course of years rather than them stupidly leaping into a relationship a month or two after the end of the movie. Susan still needs to grow up and become a self-sufficient adult on her own. She JUST got out of a horrible, unhealthy relationship, and she needs to heal from that and do some soul-searching and get in touch with herself and her needs. So in a couple years, I see that relationship having a better chance and more staying power.
And I don't quite see that sort of depth and long-term for Link/Susan, which is why I simply don't ship them as much... Even though it IS adorable, and I do really like it and see a lot of canon hints.
Hmm... And here my post started out being anti-Dr. C/Susan, then I go ahead and make a whole case FOR them. My shipping power shines through!

There actually was a perfectly good reason why Dr. Cockroach became who he is as of today when he stepped into that machine. I do know that the offical website says what years these monsters got captured. It was between the 1950s and 1960s and Susan is just barely the new one captured in 2008. Kinda freaky! I don't REALLY know if cockroaches could live on forever but I do hear that they can still be alive without the head. I think someone here has told me about it. But anyway, I think Dr. C could be ageless if that whole cockroach effect on him has made him youthful for a long time. As they say, age is just a number! ^_^

Well, for someone mutated in 1952, the Doc does seem pretty spry... I'm not sure exactly WHAT effect the cockroach DNA did have on him, but it's safe to say it does seem to have arrested the aging process and granted him some serious longevity.
But the point we were making, I believe, was about the mental maturity of the characters. Age is, indeed, just a number, but I stick to my point of Susan needing to still grow up and experience things on her own more. It's safe to say she's probably in her early twenties, and has been in a small town and a committed realtionship most of her adult life.

I agree. She does look like someone in her early 20s for a monster. And she looks prettier with white or brown hair. It doesn't matter which color to me she has on, but I think the brown hair makes her eyes look bigger than the white hair does. Speaking of growing up, I remember before they got back to visit Susan's family, Dr. C said something about being Derek's new acquaintance. I don't see how they wanted to meet him right after that whole saving San Fransico biggie from that giant alien robot

Vis a vis meeting Derek, I think that was because Susan was going on (and on and on) about Derek and how they're going to work together to find a cure, and Dr. C was all, oh, how nice, he seems supportive, maybe we'll meet him someday. Probably just being polite and supportive like he normally is. Then Susan got excited about the idea and, well, the monsters probably had nowhere else to go, and the plane was headed to Modesto, so it was probably a spur-of-the-moment decision.

Me too! I can't help it!
Then the Susan/Link shipper in me punches the Susan/Dr. C shipper in me and goes "Hello?! What about the cute little setting her down moment right after that and THEIR cute little smile exchange?"
Then my brain explodes.

Mine too. I'm not even that much of a Susan/Link shipper either, but they both look so excited and cute there. You could probably make a solid case for Susan/(insert character here) for anyone in the movie, actually. XD
