I would assume she picked up all her language skills at the Area. Like I do in regards to Link and B.O.B.

As much as i hate shipping, this is the closest I will ever get to accepting one. The relationship Link and Insecto share in the movie serves as a display for how emotionally mature Link really is. He may put up a macho front, but deep down, he has honest-to-god emotions, and he isn't afraid to show them.
For example:
-Insecto gets shot, Link runs to her aid, tries to keep her conscious, and is the only one to touch her as a form of grief
-Insecto saves the crew at the end, and Link is the only one to embrace her
-Link is apparently the only one who pets Insecto (monster intro scene), and knows her special spot (that sounds dirty...)
-And who can forget the obvious; he understands her speech. He has no relation to bugs at all, so how would that be a special ability that makes any sense? He knows her to the point of understanding every screech, pitch, and chirping sound
I still don't want any form of mushy romance. A relationship stronger than friendship can exist without romance. That's what these two have, and should maintain given a sequel.

Jamacian? That's so random! Yes it was! I can just see it now. Insecto screaming out Link's name for the first time and everybody goes HUH?! before B.O.B. goes "YOU TALK!" and then Dr. C says "And you're jamaican?!" I know B.O.B. is gonna be misunderstood the J word by accident with something stupider than that XP |

Lady, you could curse me with the Sense of the Shadowhog, and I'd die a happy man. Of course I obsess about Invader Zim. I'm a total dork, but I don't care for Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, or Star Wars (was cool, but I don't obsess over it). I have plenty of room for obscure material. IZ just happens to be one (also Miyazaki films, Kid Icarus games, and JRPGs).

Now that Insecto is a butterfly, there could be some hints hidden somewhere for when the halloween special arrives soon at the end of October.
