The giant trembled and flattened himself on the ground, acting like a submissive puppy. He whimpered and looked at Susan with huge eyes.
"I... I'm sorry...." he whined. "I didn't mean to hurt you...."

"Look! He's not dangerous! He was just afraid. I bet he wouldn't harm a fly." Zenon said and patted the giant on his head.
Susan didn't look that certain.
"May we ask what is your name dear boy?" Doctor Cockroach said.

Bruce purred at the patting, smiling broadly.
"My name is Bruce sir." the giant said, nuzzling Zenon. He then blew through his nostrils, blasting hot air through her hair.

"Well, nice to meet you Bruce. Please forgive my comrades for their behavior. You see, our mission is to--" Dr. C said but was cut off by B.O.B.
"To capture bad monsters and solve mysteries!" he yelled.
Zenon chuckled at Bruce's behavior and nuzzled back. "Que lindo". (So cute) Hobbes looked over at Susan to see what she thought now.

Susan was still a little freaked out by the giant that dwarfed even her!
"I'm dreadfully sorry miss. Could you ever forgive me?" the huge beast pleaded. He reached a large, rough-looking hand to her.

Susan looked hesitant. But then slowly extended her "petite" hand to Bruce and he kissed it as best as he could. Susan blushed a bit at the action. "I can see you're a gentleman Bruce".

"I try my best." Bruce said with a smile. Hobbies then leapt up into Bruce's lap, feeling her morning dreariness setting in again. She curled up against his stomach and covered her face with her tail. Bruce giggled and stroked her like a kitten.

"So, Bruce, mind telling us what happened to you?" Zenon asked as she carefully climbed by his arm and settled herself on his shoulder.
"Yeah, how you got to be the Colossal Man?" Link smirked, earning a slap in the back of his head, courtesy of Doctor Cockroach.
"Link, don't be rude to the young lad". he said.

Bruce blushed at the sudden attention.
"Well... I was kidnapped from my family and forced into experiments by a man called Kipling." he said. His expression grew grim and his thick eyebrows furrowed.

"Dude, what kind of sick mind would kidnap someone and force it into experiments? Doc, I think someone just won your post". Link said, sending a smug grin in Dr. Cockroach's direction. The latter responding with a glare.
"That's horrible". Susan said, showing sympathy for Bruce.
"Kipling? Why would a purse want to kidnap you?" B.O.B. asked confused.

"Well, at least you won't have to deal with that anymore, amigo." Zenon said as she stretched from her place in Bruce's shoulder. "May I?" she asked, gesturing if she could rest on his shoulder. Bruce nodded his giant head. Zenon shifted to her wolf form and curbed in a ball, resting her head on her paws, then she gave a content sigh.
"Monsters, we have arrived." Monger's voice bomed from the speakers.

Bruce went back to his charade of not being able to talk. The beastly giant carefully scooped Hobbes up into his hand and stood up. He had to bend over to avoid bumping his head on the ceiling. When Monger entered, he eyed the general suspiciously, growling slightly.

"Buddy, don't growl" Zenon said, still perched on his shoulder. Bruce gave her a 'Are you kidding me?' look but eventually stopped growling.
"Any information I should know by now about our new recruit?" Monger asked, looking at Bruce from toes to head.
