I'm very worried that the characters we know and love will get old fast, or turn into gross mischaracterizations, or just thin away into nothing under the overexposure of a TV series.
There's no way a series won't lose a few points in some respect, be it animation or writing or voicework. It's always going to be a step down from the movie, and everyone needs to brace themselves for that.
But although I am somewhat worried myself about the quality of a serial format, the idea that I would end up getting sick of the characters never crossed my mind for an instant. The only way I could see myself annoyed would be by, as you said, gross mischaracterization.
The team has a really clear, effective dynamic, and I'd say it rivals or betters most hero teams on cartoons today. Each character has strengths and weaknesses on a personal level but when they come together, they're unstoppable. And their humor dynamic is wonderful.
This is the reason that when the idea of a weekly cartoon was being tossed around weeks ago as pure hypothesis, I immediately went "Yessssssh!" The characters are definitely strong enough to handle it.
The worries I have are about how believeable the series concept will be (I can basically only see it as a "fighting a weekly baddie" show, so the place where I'm seeing more possiblity for failure is the new antagonists) and how bad the animation is going to be. *chews fingernails* Oh, it's so nervewracking!
