Hear me out on this one.
Susan was burned badly in her last relationship. That means that she might want to take it slow, go somebody non-threatening for her next relationship. It doesn't get more non-threatening than the demure, chaste Cuthbert.
Derek was somebody with a fragile ego and raw ambition. He cared about his image more than anything else, and couldn't stand being outshined. Cuthbert is the opposite of this. He's perfectly willing to take a back seat to his romantic partner, and for all his flaws, he isn't afraid of being overshadowed. What he wants is a nice, patient partner who can protect him and won't force her affections when he isn't ready.
Really, if you want a big, strong woman to protect you, you couldn't do much better than Susan. For his end of the physical relationship, Cuthbert is in pretty good shape, and is sexy in a starchy 50s era sort of way. Also he's athletically accomplished, which would give him a better chance of satisfying a giantess's needs than most men. (I hope I don't need to elaborate on this).
Your thoughts?

Nobility: I'm glad it works for you. Isn't it odd that the pairing which involves an actual %100 human is the only one commented upon as "disturbing"? Twitter Cordova and RAWRrhi: What do you think of the pairing? =o Go or no go?

Hmm...honestly i would say no go For the following reasons
1)She's quite a bit older than him (she being in her early 20's) 2)He's a bit of a wuss(im really sorry, i'm not saying it to be mean!)
I honestly would have liked to see Derek and Susan get back together If he wasn't a jerk though, but hey that's just my huge crush on Paul Rudd talking lol
Paul Rudd is my weakness!, I've loved him ever since i saw him on Friends ^_^

I'm going to have to say no as well. Not because I'm biased against shipping, but because I don't think it would work realistically. A relationship is supposed to be an equal partnership. The movie blatantly points that out. The whole reason Derek wouldn't work for Ginormica is because he wanted to be on top.
Where I'm going with this is Cuthbert is definitely a wimp. He has nothing to contribute to a relationship. He drove Katie to a secluded area with no intention of taking advantage of it, even though it was clear as crystal it was what she wanted. Once again, it would be Ginormica giving, and someone else taking with no reciprocation. The movie points out this is bad.

Hmm. I didn't really think of that. Well argued, Blackboxx. I suppose Cuthbert is some of the same problem at the other extreme, and he takes too long to "warm up" for it to just be a short-term fling.

Well, I don't think the "Wussyness" is as much of an issue as "What does he bring to the table? How does he contribute?" The only reason he's "Wussy" is that he acts the way the chaste, teenage girl does in the fifties scifi creature features. He's slow to respond to carnal desires, but maybe he's emotionally supportive? He seems quite eager to talk and have conversations about feelings.

Twitter Cordova and RAWRrhi: What do you think of the pairing? =o Go or no go? I still don't know what to think over about this couple, but a no go sounds like the right choice. One because RAWR said that Susan was somewhere in her early 20s and in this case, Cuthbert is a weak guy. A wuss maybe is too big of a strong word, and we saw how slow he was on Katie when she wanted to make out in his car. He could have a thing for Susan if they ever meet, but I don't think Susan would be into someone half her age much less younger than 18 or 16.

Aaaaaaand that about sums it up. ^____^
I was going to refrain from this discussion because I immediately relegated this pair to the same "oh, that's nice, but I'm not interested" portion of my brain that I do Susan/Monger (oh, yes, it exists... O.o), but there really are some compelling points to be made for it. All of them made by fuzzy.
The best one to be made is that Cuthbert is a polar opposite to Derek in terms of how he'd react to a woman as clearly dominant (but also non-threatening) as Susan. The fact that he seems emotionally supportive is another plus.
The age things probably not as big of a deal as everyone's making it out to be. Susan's twenty-five, tops. Cuthbert's probably a senior in high school, so we're looking at around or at eighteen. So... five to seven years. It's not that bad. Especially if this magical fictional relationship doesn't happen for a few years.
The main problem I personally have is that Cuthbert is repelled by the stange and unusual. He was freaking out about the probe before it was anything threatening, even. A fifty-foot woman? Mental overload.
Of course, this could make an interesting tale of him personally overcoming that and connecting with Susan.
That's the thing about pairs like this. You can talk them up and down and it can go either way, but it needs fanfiction to make it real.
(My perspctive isn't skewed at aaaaaaaall toward fanfiction or anything... XDD)

Thanks Mansion. I think he isn't so much repelled by things strange and unusual as he is frightened by them. That distinction is important, especially when considering shipping potential. I also think the same things that make her scary (huge, super-strong) would also make her appealing as a protector figure. The age difference could work to our advantage. Perhaps an older, more mature woman would be more patient than a hormone-filled teenager.
