Me too. It looks spectacular. It's a shame it's not in 3D though.

Um, you do know that Tim Burton had nothing to do with Coraline, right?
But yeah, those succulent.

Yeah, I know that Coraline's marketing was almost purposefully misleading. Henry Selick was actually the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas, not Tim Burton. (In my opinion, Selick is probably the better director of the two. ;))
I loved Shane Acker's short film, and I'm glad such a big producer gave the thumbs up on a PG-13 post-apocalyptic animated film. (I was really excited to learn about its production last December!) And with his big name, I'm hoping it's successful and lets American animation in the future to feel free to branch out of the G/PG range (Not that there's anything wrong with that! But I would love for people in animation to feel freer to do it if they wanted.) I love the diversity in animated films that 2009 has brought us so far. ;)
And on Tim Burton, I am actually really interested in the feature-length version of Frankenweenie. :O

Saw it today. I thought it was really good. The ending didn't feel that complete, though. D:

I also saw it today, and thought it was a lot better than I was expecting. I was originally worried it was going to be a typical kill 'em all style movie like most disaster movies were, to the point where you cared nothing for the individual characters and was just waiting for all of them to die, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, there were a lot of deaths, but they never felt pointless, I was especially moved by the last death (almost had me in tears).

I liked this movie a great deal.
It's one of my all time favorites.
The concept of 9 people suddenly being pushed into the world with no idea of why they were created or what their purpose was is fascinating to me.
Strangely, I had to go see this film at a cinema that shows "independent films".
Why would you not show a big film at a larger cinema?
And the mainland cinemas were showing it, so I'm confused as to why our local cinemas were slighting this movie.
