I can't believe there hasn't been a discussion about music on this forum yet. At least, there isn't one that I could find.
Anyway, what are some of your favorite songs? Genre of music? Artists? You can apply it to MVA if you like, but it's really not necessary.
Personally, I like trance-techno. Anything that you can lose yourself while listening. For example:
This is actually from DDR. I never played the game, but I remember using the computer while my sister was many years ago. This song came up, and I just stopped what I was doing and listened. I even asked her to try that song again because it was so cool.
Then, there's my favorite song off of a CD I own;
This song just relaxes me to no end. It's perfect for those snowy days where you just want to curl up next to the fireplace, and watch the snow fall. You may fall asleep, but I guarantee you will relax.
Trance music isn't all about relaxation. It's about making the audience FEEL something. That can include getting pumped up for something. This song is by one of my favorite groups, and was featured in Wipeout XL (futuristic racing game) on the Playstation.
Of course, I can't make a topic like this without mentioning my all time favorite group; Juno Reactor. They worked on the scores for the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies, just to let you know who they are. This song combines the relaxing sounds I love with the upbeat tempo that gets me motivated. Enjoy;
So, anyone else want to share some of their favorites?

I listen to a LOT of music! My main faves are pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B and a little bit of rap. And then there's also soundtrack music that I listen to. That's the kind where you hear from movies all the time.

Video game music, eh? I agree whole-heartedly. Let me share something from my favorite game of all time. When you put the disc into your playstation, and just let the game go, you will be greeted with this;
That song alone drew me into the series. I was expecting some generic J-Pop anime stuff that I would skip after the initial viewing. I was happily surprised to hear that a wild-west themed game actually had wild-west themed music! Keep in mind, that this game was released 12-13 years ago as an early PS1 game. To have that quality of music when I was used to 16-bit syntho sounds was completely unexpected.
Which video game songs do you like?

About the video...I like it! I really like the wild-west theme! To answer you question, a whole lot. Though, right now my favorites have to be Rabbids go Home music and Banjo Kazooie nuts and Bolts. Awesome tuba music and intrusmental (I can't spell it right) FTW!

There's just something about the name Jade that makes it illegal for a character to be ordinary. Every single one I've seen in video games has been a major ass-kicker. I remember playing the early portion of Beyond Good and Evil. It was awesome, but I never finished it... I have no idea why.
You have convinced me to pick it back up once I finish Tales of the Abyss (also featuring a badass Jade, though this one is a man). I absolutely agree that that music was awesome.
If anyone is looking for some awesome video game music (or just music in general), check out Frequency for PS2. Tons of techno, trance, rock, and a bit of Rap/R&B. Plus, once you complete a level, you can take the songs, and make your own remixes (sorta, you're given a bunch of sound bits, but you can organize them any way you want, and add a few effects).

That was a good song, Monsterfan. I usually don't go for rock, but that was just different enough to be enjoyable. It was light on the screaming, the drums were sweet, the vocals were harmonic (though I can't help but laugh at the, for lack of a better word, emo lyrics), and I loved the string hits spread out in the song. Plus that album art was creepy cool. Thanks for sharing.

Your welcome Blackboxx! Try some more of Celldweller's music, most of it isn't with lyrics and is more like video game music. For example Birthright, Outland, Solaris, and one of my favorites Ursa Minor (there are many different verisons of that song).

Got around to finally checking out those other songs you mentioned. I'm sold. I like Celldweller.
It's so nice to be introduced to a new band. I really don't like the stuff they play on the radio here in Ohio, so I usually just go with my CD collection. Lots of celtic and techno ;D It's nice to hear your favorites, but that makes it tough to hear new stuff.
Anyway, I must return the favor Monsterfan. I think you would enjoy Juno Reactor. My favorites would be the aforementioned Hotaka, Pistolero, Rotorblade, War Dogs, Jardin de Cecile, Conga Fury, and High Energy Protons. Now, I like everything they have, but those get highest honors. Some take a bit to start up, but they are well worth the wait (even the build up is very trance-inducing).
Try them out. Let me know what you think.
