Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! How did you know? Lately, I've been going old school and replaying a lot of my old games. I recently finished Tales of the Abyss, Beyond Good and Evil, Oblivion, and something else that I can't remember right now. I am currently replaying the very first RPG released on the original Playstation; Beyond the Beyond. Holy crap, I forgot how brutal RPGs were! Monsters had access to magic that could take half of your entire party's HP in one cast. God save you if you encountered more than one in the same battle. Not only that, but some later monsters get two turns per round. I had to use a glitch just to get through fights without using my most powerful magic just to avoid letting the enemy get a turn (but I would run out in 5-6 battles before I had to rest). But it is deadly good fun picking your top 5 favorite characters (that's right, you get a 5 man party) and upgrading your class. New games I have played are Dragon Age: Origins (mad fun RPG also with some difficulty), Borderlands (first game that made me fall in love with a FPS game, thanks to a snarky playable character and RPG elements), and New Super Mario Bros Wii (would finish it if my bro would play with me...). If you couldn't tell, my prefered games are RPGs, both Japanese and Western styles, depending on my mood. I have no idea what I will play next. I'm kinda dreading the end of BtB simply because I know I will run into a "dry" phase where nothing seems amusing enough to play again. I would go buy a new game, but nothing tickles my fancy at the moment (and cash is a little tight). I'm just waiting for the next big RPG to hit the Xbox 360, whatever that may be. And no, I will not play Final Fantasy 13. I'd rather have some control of my game beyond battles.

I believe me favorites games are the Rayman, Mario, Crash, and Godzilla series. Although, I do really enjoy Halo 3 and shooters and stuff. What am I talking about?
*sigh* I really wish they'd make a Rayman 4...I mean a REAL platformer. I mean, I don't mind the rabbids, in fact I love them, it's just I grew up on the platforming Rayman. I also miss the old spyro, but for some odd reason I don't miss the old Crash. Huh. Weird. Maybe I see Crash and fighting working good together but not spyro. Oh well! DOOM!

But it's more like a toy than a game.XD I got to playing Devil may Cry...It was a little easy for me but I got low scores XD I found Monster Rancher and I named a Fish-like one Link XD. I havn't used the MvA dvd yet...wonder what comes out of that one... I've got Rayman DS which I find kinda hard. It's basically a port of Rayman 2. You know what that reminds me that EVERYTIME I asked for Rayman 2 because my old one got scratched I get Rayman Raving Rabbids 2...Finally I got Rayman 2(kinda XD) Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 I have THREE copies of that because I asked all my family members for it for christmas XD.

Finished Beyond the Beyond. Thankfully, I managed to find something to play immediately after; Lost Odyssey (XBox360). It's really fun. While I usually don't care too much for melodrama in games, this one has some very touching scenes involving the main character, his wife, and their grandchildren. I dare say, I actually felt a lump in my throat starting to form. I never get that attached to mere video game characters!
Kid characters are usually annoying, but these two are actually very... realistic. Their logic is that of children (unlike many RPGs where the kids are geniuses, or just adults in children's bodies), and so are their reactions after the things they experience. Plus, I gotta give the little boy props. Kid's got cahones, punching giant dinosaur-type monsters like that. Plus, there are two characters whose dialog is nothing short of hilarious.

I miss the old Crash and Spyro too. The new ones look terrible and the games aren't as fun. I have a PS1 and I play Crash 2: Cortex strikes back, and Spyro the Dragon. I beat both games, but it's nice to play them again. I FINALLY got the quagga for ZT2!!!

Ah! Video games? What's not to love about them? Hmm...well growing up from my childhood in the 90s (wow I sound like an old fart lol!) the first games I remember playing was the Super Mario Brothers for the very original Nintendo. I think I have been playing Nintendo for many years up until I got older to become a Playstation owner. Now the only video games that I get are based from the animated movies (sometimes live-action) But I'll never forget about the Spyro and Mario games. They were very fun! I also like the pokemon games that I used to play all the time when I was little, but now they put them only on Nintendo DS (which I don't have yet but I'm hoping to get one for my birthday this upcoming summer) Kingdom Hearts is also very entertaining but it's so hard on my level to beat the darn thing. (And I say the same thing for the Transformers video game too that I've got on PSP. UGH! Talk about frustration! )

Lol. People need to make games for the old Cartoons that we still love but were never give their own game! Like Invader Zim, The Angry Beavers, and so many more! Curse you people! WHY!? Why do you only care for the money! Do it for the fans and stuff...what am I saying? I..don't...know.

Be careful what you wish for. Games based on established intellectual property are usually mediocre at best. Too much of the budget goes into securing the rights to use the material. Not enough is leftover to pay for talented developers. The result is usually a rushed, highly derivative, unoriginal, bland game that fails to capture the essence of what makes the show/movie so enjoyable. And good luck getting the same actors to provide the voices.
There have been some good ones, so it's not impossible. Many of the Simpsons games have been made with the cooperation of the voice actors and writers from the series. While the actual games are pretty standard fare, at least you are rewarded with an episode of the Simpsons.
But look at me go on. I've become such a gaming snob, but I won't apologize for it. I'm not entertained by playing essentially the same game with a new coat of paint anymore. If a game doesn't have something new (or combination of established features that haven't been mixed yet), I'm likely to just pass it up.
What was the point I'm trying to make? Er.... I'd rather keep interactive and passive media separate. Let game makers create their own worlds. That way, they have a vested interest as it is their creativity players have to judge.

I played a bit of San Andreas, but not with any sense of seriousness. I loved messing with the city. Oh, and cheat codes are FUN FUN FUN. Like... Flying cars combined with the cinematic camera POV while laying on the horn (doppler effects are crazy). Then, I would try to cause the most destruction in the biggest population without getting caught. I actually succeeded in causing a 10 car explosion chain with cops right next to me. They never lifted a finger to stop me, nor did I use a cheat code. How did I do it? Heeeheeeheeeeeeeeheheee ;D Well, ok. Since I know you would ask me nicely. First, I grabbed my own car from CJ's garage. Then I drove out to one of those clover-leaf exit ramps. The particular one I liked to use the most featured a downhill two-lane road after entering the highway. At the very bottom, I would park my car (being careful not to hit anyone). Then, I get out of the car, and stand in the other lane. That's really all I do (except for rotating the camera to get a nice view of the traffic behind me). Since the AI in the game makes NPCs stop and wait for a car in front of them to move, they will slam their brakes. They couldn't stop in time. Normally, they can stop on a dime, but I staged it so that it wasn't enough. First, they were on a freeway. That means speeds are much higher than in the city. Second, they were driving downhill. This also increases their speed. So, one car would hit mine, another would hit that one, and so on until the game stopped spawning cars. At that point, I had caused such a huge traffic jam that people were getting out of their cars and attacking each other when they collided. Eventually, some cars would take so much damage that they would explode. Any cars nearby would then explode, and so on again. Cue the emergency vehicles; police firetrucks and ambulances. While more cars joined in to replace the ones that exploded, the police began trying to kill the rioting citizens (I still have not moved a muscle except to avoid getting caught in any explosions myself). More cars ramming into each other, and more people succumbing to road rage just made the process repeat itself until I decided to end it and jump off the overpass. Since I never technically struck anyone's vehicle, I was never implicated in the ensuing chaos. The game lets you park anywhere without fear of reprisal. I could go on with that scenario for hours (I think 3 is my record). The best part? The people that got exploded, run over, policed, beaten by fellow NPCs, and shot would drop all sorts of goodies; money, weapons, ammo. Free supplies with minimal risk, and effort? I so love the way my mind works sometimes.
