In the series, Susan grows her hair out and ties it back with a metallic hairband.
I'm wondering, in the event that a MVA2 (or more sequels!) are released, will Susan keep this hairstyle from the series? It would look fairly inconsistent for the movie Susan to have shorter hair then series Susan.
My personal theory is that it's a visual reference that Susan is getting more confident, by changing her appearance in a noticeable way.
As an aside, have they ever had a scene without the hairband? I'm curious as to what she looks like if she allows her hair to hang loose.
That's unlikely though, as CGI shows tend to only have one model per character.

For now, let's just hope there will be a Monsters VS Aliens 2. I am urged to wait until 2020, but while Train your Dragon 2/3 and the Croods are still runnign, it's very unlikely.

I hate to say it but I'd rather they just make part 2 and do whatever with her hair. However I am one of those people who likes consistency and would cross my fingers that she keeps her new hairstyle.

Although I don't know from personal experience, it is usually common that once a woman lets her hair grow out, she doesn't want to cut it short again, because it means she'll just have to grow it out again if she decides it was better long.
Although I am puzzled by the metal clasp holding it back, wouldn't that be painful if Susan happened to lie back or it took an unexpected impact?
I'm expecting the reason for the clasp is actually to stop the hair moving too much, as these CGI models aren't as sophisicated as the movie ones.
Even the How To Train Your Dragon series had a similar problem and their models were the ones from the movie. Stoick's cloak and Hiccup's fur vest were removed because they just weren't capable of animating them properly.

Obviously they made her hair long, so they'd tighten it up and wouldn't have to make many animations. In the movie her hair was loose, reason why all this animation had to be done on it. I'd really prefer her with short hair, but if they were to make a sequel, use whatever hair they want, just DO IT!
