Hi! I'm a huge fan of the movie and tv show. I recently found out that the most recent episode was the series finale. It ticked me off a bit so I went searching for any other fans who love the franchise. Hopefully I have found that here.

Well, it's pretty much empty now, but new ones are still welcome

It wouldn't be the first time I joined a forum that's turned into a ghost town. I only wish there was some way to revive it or create a new one.

I am rather surprised at this.
Monsters Vs Aliens (in my opinion) is the best DreamWorks film they ever made. I would have thought that meant it had a large and committed fanbase.
But a nagging thought in the back of my mind is that perhaps the average DreamWorks fan is more interested in their other productions. I'm willing to accept they may like How To Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda, but Monsters Vs Aliens has to come first.
Part of me is wondering if it's the "sci-fi curse" as I call it. To explain, sci-fi is given short shrift in our society, it has a large and dedicated fanbase, the fans are incredibly committed beyond the call of duty. Yet, they are barely acknowledged when it comes to popular culture, as the market generally targets other, less committed fanbases. In DreamWorks' case, I would assume this is the comedy market, since Shrek and Madagascar appear to be their priority projects. Even though Shrek is fading fast and Madagascar is a movie nobody can take seriously.
The reason I thought of this is that MvA is technically sci-fi, which could affect the business perception of it as viable, basically some idiot marketing expert in marketing probably said, look, you're going to have a hard time selling a sci-fi movie, so it would be more viable if we do another movie that appeals to low brow humor. I was going to say something much more impolite there, but I think it would be against forum rules to use the phrase that entered my mind.
