Dreamworks Animation: The ExhibitionI found out about this by seeing some random ad on the internet. But I am planning to go see it sometime within the next month or two. It'll require an interstate trip, but it's not very far away. I'm hoping to see some Monsters Vs Aliens material. Unfortunately, I know in advance that it'll most likely be Shrek, Madagascar or Kung Fu panda centered. But there will be at least something from MvA there I hope. I'd like to take some some photos for you to see, but ACMI forbids anyone to photograph their exhibitions.

That sounds real cool. I sure wish they do show Monsters VS Aliens stuff as well.
But anyway, it sure is nice that such exhibitions are taking place around the world. I mean, here in Greece absolutely nothing happens. It's so dead a country in these matters. I'd wish the news would for once show something like that instead of politics or star potins. All we get to find out is through the internet, nothing else.

I've booked my trip to see the Exhibition. In a week or so, I'll let you know what MvA stuff I saw. Assuming they have some that is. Also hoping that the guidebook (they usually sell one in the exhibition giftshop) has some info on the exhibit as well. Here is the one I bought the last time ACMI had an exhibition: TBE guidebookI'm hoping they have one for this exhibition as well. Normally they also sell some promotional merchandise, but I don't think MvA has any significant merchandise, so I probably won't find any other souvenirs from the exhibition.

I've now seen the Exhibition. It was even worse then I'd expected! This was the only part of the exhibition that was featuring MvA: Four pictures I'd already seen in my artbook. There was no MvA merchandise to be acquired either. I was hoping to see the clay maquettes for Susan, Link, Dr Cockroach, BOB and General Monger. Here's a Toothless maquette if you don't know what those are. My usual rating is a 64-75% percent with a minimum of 2 hours (sometimes 3) spent looking at this exhibit. This one was rated 34% and I only spent an hour there! The majority of the exhibition was dedicated to Shrek and Madagascar, both of which mean nothing to me, so I didn't even bother looking at those parts. The only part I liked was dedicated to How to Train Your Dragon. There were some minor sections dedicated to Megamind and The Croods. That's all that was interesting to me. The guidebook to the exhibition was just as bad, so I didn't buy that either.

I've now seen the Exhibition. It was even worse then I'd expected! I don't want to disappoint you, but I expected it. I mean, sure they'd concentrate more on Shrek (pffff) and Madagascar. And that is how Dreamworks will keep on moving obviously. Until MvA is completely forgotten, yep that's right.
