Slight spoilers of the clips (Because it's on the previous page, I don't want my comments on the clips to do that before you even watch them! :O):



- So there are children! And they all sound like adult men. Haha. ;)
- The Missing Link is having some problems scaring. And children think his costume is lame. We saw that coming from our discussions, but I still liked it! :)
- Haha. I love how the clip cuts out what I suppose is Dr. Cockroach's explaination of why he hates Halloween. Jumpcuts from evil to pitiful. Haha.

Wasn't so sure of the beginning with the farmer. Kind of boring jokes, but the special got better when the monsters were introduced. I am genuinely excited! Random disjointled thoughts:

Dangit, B.O.B.'s animation continues to amaze me! Love the Elvis hair.

EEEK! BUTTERFLYOSAURUS! I was worried she wasn't going to be in there!

Awww... you know you're a Link fangirl when his first scene makes you squeal with cuteness/hotness overload. XD

HAHA! My gods, I was just telling Baycrum that Link did look like Shrek in the MVA coloring pages, and now they're using it in the halloween special? I'm afraid to say the next thing that will appear in the MVA fanbase of...stuff XDD

OMG! DR. COCKROACH EEEP! I love how evil his scene show up, but why did the clips how to skip off ahead in some parts? CURSE YOU WRECHED CLIP THINGIE! I wanted to know why he got so sad! He must of had the worst halloween time for his childhood. Time to call in the fanfic writers! BUWAHAHAHAHA!

But what was up with him zapping one of the kids at the door when it got answer? I had a WTF reaction to that lolz!

I think it might be debatable if it was Katie. I think Katie's a lot more skinny around the hip area. And I'm pretty sure Katie's eyes are bigger. But that did seem weird that the girl had the exact same hairstyle. Must be the "universal man" thing at work. :O

I also loved the father and son who were about to work on the pumpkin. They acted just like they were in a 1950s family show. Haha. ;)

Maybe it was around Halloween that he was captured, or as you suggested, he was really bullied around Halloween... or he's just upset that his invention, whatever it was, didn't work.

Like most of DreamWorks' animated features, the premise for the "Monsters vs. Aliens" pic surpassed the execution. Boiled down to a half-hour, however, the concept works just fine, with plenty of action, a terrific look and the most meager possible plot. While hardly destined to make anyone forget Linus and the Great Pumpkin, it makes for a nifty Halloween special NBC will air twice -- back to back -- and which, based on ABC's performance in 2007 with "Shrek the Halls," could provide a welcome treat to a network that could certainly use one.

Beginning with a toilet joke -- a spaceship essentially empties its lavatories on a pumpkin patch near poor, picked-upon Modesto, Calif., mutating the crop into anthropomorphic little gremlins -- the spec reintroduces Ginormica (voiced by Reese Witherspoon), the Missing Link (Will Arnett), Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie) and B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), who are quickly dispatched to neutralize the threat.

Halloween, of course, allows most of the group to roam about freely, and Dr. Cockroach to lament about a lost lollipop. Eventually, the candy-munching pumpkins assemble for a pitched battle, though despite the occasional glimpses of pumpkin guts, it's fine for the kids -- though writer Adam F. Goldberg and director Peter Ramsey do indulge in some older-skewing references, from using a favorite "Scarface" quote ("Say hello to my little friend.") to dressing Ginormica's parents (Julie White, Jeffrey Tambor) as Frankenstein and his bride.

The animation is first rate, and the specials serve an obvious purpose for DreamWorks, helping keep these franchises alive in the minds of kids and their toy-buying parents between movies. There's also something to be said for replenishing a pool of holiday specials that frankly hasn't been improved on much since the Grinch, Charlie Brown and Rudolph.

Granted, small fry have plenty of alternatives these days, but the adult-demo-obsessed networks have let children lose the broadcast habit at their peril.

So cue the evil laugh, and unleash the mutant pumpkins.

So Cockroach HAS suffered during Halloween... sort of. Awesome. (Oh my gosh... does... does this mean we might get to see more of human!Cockroach in a flashback!?)

Hey is it just me or is Susan's hair shorter???Also at the begining when Links practicing his scares BOB says "Do the creature from the Blue lagoon!" sounds like "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" uh?
