Random funness from the video game:
Katie was in the game, but Cuthbert was not. Instead, she was dating some dorky nerdy guy who was using a tin-foil hat to fight the aliens. XD Guess Katie has a history of dating lame-os...

I saw that! I was all "Ooooh Katie...but where's Cuthbert?" X3 It made me happy that they included her, though.
Gawd, it kind of stinks liking a very minor character, but it also makes it easier to develop Katie in fanfiction since we can take what we know from her, which is very little, and expand upon it.
I can't wait for my muse to start kicking in so I could start actively participating in the fanfiction fandom for this ship~

Hmm, wonder if that's yet another relic from an early draft of the script.
Still, awesomeness! Tin foil hat = classic!
So, hey, you guys... I pretty much figured I'd eventually have to stop creating new Katie/Link stories and just expand on what I'd already created, since there's only so many ways I can think for them to actually meet...
Then I got this silly fluff idea for a whole new one-shot. So, yeah. Some good stuff planned there, but it's not something I'm planning on analysing too deeply, since it's just a liiiittle cracky and mostly just for fun. I swear, every time I try to write a fic with a ship invovling Susan, I get a whole new idea for this ship or gallaxhar/Computer. My muse, she's a devil.

Yeah, I finally finished that fic, and... GAWD it's cracky. To the point where I'm like... Should I even post this? The plot and reasoning are shot to hell... It basically exists as an excuse for the snarky dialogue (which was fun).
I really don't know what to do with it. I almost never post crack!fic. *shrugs helplessly* Thoughts?

XD Guess Katie has a history of dating lame-os... I've been wondering why Katie was with some geek that wasn't Cuthbert. First Derek doesn't get mention in the video game and now this? I wonder if this was why she moved on to dating jock guys instead of nerds But yeah that's the cool thing you get to like about a minor character. You can do whatever you want them to do in stories and roleplaying. I've never seen this much attention for Katie before, but that's very nice.

I love minor characters. There's breathing room!
Gosh, I guess I am gonna post the crack!fic tomorrow. I'm going to edit it though, because there's this part in it that's not really nessacary that is bugging me and I couldn't get it right and... GRR! I mean, it added another layer to the story, but it's executed in such a clumsy way that I'd rather not have it in there at all than have it be done badly.
I'm a little once-bitten, twice-shy about posting crack!fics, even though I write them from time to time. One that I did once that was this fond (and knowing) parody of slash fics for a particular fandom I was in got Housed, and it made me sad. (And if that reference went over your head, the site is House of Bad Fanfiction, and they MST bad fanfiction. My fic was written in ironic bad!fic style--BECAUSE IT WAS A PARODY!--and it got picked apart like a regular bad fic. I guess it was just the humor not hitting the mark, but it was weird, because all the reviewers I'd heard from thought it was hilarious. But I'm very much digressing.)
This fic's cracky in that it's mostly dialogue and the setup is slightly random and it progresses without a lot of thought from point to point. Hopefully, you guys'll find it amusing. If not, I'll probably take it down from FFN.

I don't think it works, tbh. The reason why is that, for all her courageous spirit, Kate is a woman of base physical passions. She expresses her affection physically, and likes guys that look good.
Cuthbert is a svelt high school gym-lover.
Missing Link is an out-of-shape aging fish-man.
As much as she is frustrated with his hesitancy and prudishness, deep down Katie might respect his decision to wait until he's ready for physical intimacy. If not, there are plenty of other hunky boys that don't have scales or a few millenia above her age.

Okay, fuzzynecromancer... I respect your opinion. In fact, heck, you're basically 100% right in terms of canon.
That being said... This is a crackpair. It started as a crackpair on the FFN threads and ended up being ficced by Go-Go Spiders and myself to the point were it got a mini-following. And I started a thread about it on the then... what, week-old forum here. We aren't really seriously considering this... It's just crackpair fun.

I consider everything seriously. It's what enables me to write comedy and fantasy fiction.

Okay... Yeah, sorry...
I dunno. Something about defending pairings riles me up, especially if I ship them. And honestly? I really love this one, despite its logic gaps and crackiness. And when someone comes in and goes "okay, this pairing doesn't work for this and this and this reason," I feel like I need to do damage control.
...I'm gonna shut up now before I embarrass myself further.

It'd be interesting to see Katie turned into a monster and have the hots for Link. (Lol) I wonder what she'd be.
This pairing is growing upon me! Why? Eh. I don't know. EH!

Lol. What about a cat? Or a Tiger? Or a leopard? I don't know.
Katie: The cat-clawed terror!
