That's where to say about Pixar and Dreamwork being better than the other? There shouldn't be a battle for it. Pixar was the reason why we got computer animation movies in the first place (anyone remember Toy Story? It's what made their movies a big hit from the start. The more I think about it, I don't really think that there was one time one of their films have ever failed, but Dreamworks had a few including Shark Tale, but Shrek beat Monsters Inc from what someone tells me that it did. Umm what else can I say? Well....Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille and Wall-E are some of my faves. The Incredibles and Cars did pretty good, but I wasn't too crazy about Up when I saw it. As for Dreamworks, I know we all love Monsters Vs Aliens and some have did mention Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar and Over the Hedge and Bee Movie. (am I ranting on a long list of movies? Gosh I'm such a talker!) You should say that Dreamworks is trying to follow in Pixar's footsteps, but as we know, Pixar just only does movies that are down in CGI and we got Disney returning back to 2-D animation. I don't know if Dreamworks will do the same, but maybe not for now.

I don't really think they're comparable. They just go about stories differently.
I don't know. Dreamworks might get flack for creating traditionally animated films right after Disney does. :O They might wait a while.
Argh...I thought I could go to the Toy Story Double Feature tomorrow, but I have to wait until next weeeek...D:

Visually, I think Pixar has the better textures. (Something that always pops up in my mind is the peach fuzz on Mr. Fredricksen.)
On the actual animation, I think Dreamworks actually tries a bit harder. I mean, Up was about adventure and fun, right? But it didn't feel like it with the animation. It was so blanddd...Point A to Point B. Too bad, too. D:

I just noticed how great Susan's hair is. One thing I always heard is that hair is difficult to pull off in computer animation.

to me there both really good but I like dreamworks a little better because of there complex computer graphics skills.I like some of pixars skills but not that much as dreamworks.Besides,if it wasn't for there movie 'Monsters vs aliens' and how much detail, hard work, there 3D computer graphic skills and there motivation in the movie,I would have never keep up my goal to be a computer graphic designer in 3D animations in special effects and try to apply a job to work at Dreamworks

Found this over at Yahoo today and if you look at the charts, each movie from Pixar and Dreamworks has made all kinds of awarding money. And if you look down at the bottom, there's clearly a official trailer for How to Train your Dragon. movies.yahoo.com/feature/compare-pixar-dreamworks.html

Great find! :)
Oh God, Hiccup's voice is going to annoy me. Haha! :)

Thanks Aurum! And yes, I do agree with ya. I don't think Hiccup's voice is the great choice for him, so I'm gonna have to be disagreeing with Dreamworks for a change about their new voice-picking for the charactes. He looks too young to be having a grown-up voice ^^;

Aw, you beat me to it! ^_^
Anyway, so far, it's looking pretty interesting. I'm a little annoyed by the tired old "ignorant humans are evil and the monsters are actually nice!" that seems to be the crux of the plot, and the main character's voice is rather annoying, but that scene with the dragon offering Hiccup the fish is genuinely funny and cute. It's definitely a different kind of Dreamworks movie that seems to be counting more on heart-warming moments than comedy, which I like. I'll definitely have to check it out.
So, how much money you want to bet that someone is going to complain that Dreamworks is ripping off Pixar by having more sugary sweetness in their movies?

So, how much money you want to bet that someone is going to complain that Dreamworks is ripping off Pixar by having more sugary sweetness in their movies? Hmm....from what I think, it could be that Nosetelga person that leaves crappy reviews on the good or the bad movies. Either that guy, or some straight random person whose too obessed with just Pixar movies. Oh yeah! It's happen before and no doubt that the battle war will go on again and again!

Some people may end up writing reviews about how How To Train Your Dragon's Northern European locale is a rip-off of Pixar's 2011 film Bear and the Bow. But hopefully most will know that this isn't really much to talk about. ;)
Is it just me, or does the dragon look like a Pokemon? :O It's got Bulbasaur's face and Pikachu's ears.
"Astrid" is not in the book, is she?

Never seen anything about that movie yet. I must say, I'm looking forward to that one now. Love medieval fantasy stories with a passion.
I actually don't think Hiccup's voice was bad. It sounds appropriate to me; not too old, not too young. It has a nasally sound to it, but that just fits his "nerdy", inventive personality.
While the plot has been done before, this is Dreamworks we're talking about here. They seem to put twists on the familiar; macho jock with a convincing sensitive side, mad scientist with a degree in dancing, insatiable blob with the heart of a child, legendary warrior with a pot belly, etc. I'm sure something will surprise us.
Now, on topic, I'm no diehard fan of either company. I like what I like, simple as that. I can like a Pixar movie, while hating a Dreamworks film. I can hate Pixar, while adoring Dreamworks. I can like both. It depends on the individual movie.
