I THINK this is the right place for this...
So... who else is excited for this movie? I am. Stupidly so.

If by stupidly, you mean by wonderful and excited then yes, I am too. I've been hearing lots of this movie since 2007 so I'm really glad that Disney will be going back to it's roots. I've felt really annoyed all of the bad comments on Youtube are complaining about today's shows and movies; I don't find nothing wrong with them, but going back to old classics is a different tale to talk about.
At first I had a deep good feeling that the movie will be successful enough to make more 2-D animation films, but now I don't know. It's a mix half and half or so to me, but we'll have to see how it plays along by ear. And we've got about almost half another month down since October is almost finish.

It's coming out on my birthweekend and I've been excited to see it since like the beginning of freshman year. (Senior now. :O) Haha. :)
It will be a better birthweekend movie than The Day The Earth Stood Still. ;)

At the very least, I believe the movie will make a fair amount of money just by virtue of the fact that it's an old fashioned Disney movie. It's Disney, so parents would already be motivated to take their children to go see it, but the fact that it's also playing off the nostalgia of both the parents and animation lovers will attract older crowds. In fact, I'm having a hard time picturing how this movie COULD fail spectacularly. Whether or not it will usher in a new string of traditional animated movies as other animation companies follow suit remains to be seen, but by itself, I think Princess and the Frog is going to be just fine, money-wise.
I'm also debating with myself on whether I want to catch the November premier or just suck it up and wait until December. This is the first movie that I've been actively following along it's development since I've learned about it, so I'm feeling very impatient. At the same time, though, I'm wondering whether or not I'll enjoy the movie more in a normal, quiet, close-by theater or the big one that might have lots of young children (not that I particularly mind children). Plus it might be a fun outing with my family... (gah, if only there was a young child in my family then I could have an excuse!)

I'm going to try to use my little brother as an excuse. He thinks Naveen as a frog is funny.
But I think I'll try to gather up all my friends.
Celebrating my 18th birthday with a G-rated movie. Awesome. At least there won't be any trouble. My theater has gotten so retrictive that I need a California state law ID to prove that I'm 17 or have my mom buy tickets and watch the movie with me, so I've had to sneak into Rs for the past six months. Kind of sad. D:

It sounds like CA is getting too over control with the ratings if kids are to be going to movies that are the wrong choices for them. You shouldn't have a problem getting into a G-rated movie if they let you when you're going to go pay for a ticket Aurum.

Ooh, so does that means you're going to try to catch the November premier, or are you talking about the December one?
I recently bought the junior novelization for the movie to help satisfy my impatience. I was initially worried that the novelization might spoil me rotten, but I gotta admit, I feel anything but cheated. In fact, now I'm even MORE eager to go see the darn movie. Tiana and Naveen are now OFFICIALLY my Disney OTP. Seriously. Their romance is bordering diabetic-sweetness, and I'm loving every moment of it.

It's just that watching a G-rated movie will be the first easy stroll into the movie theaters that I've had in months! ;)

It's only in LA. Even in the Central Valley, that's like five hours away. I'll be going to Disneyland around that time, though. But the tickets are like $50, so I ended up shying away from that plan. D:

Ah, okay.
So, has anyone heard some of the songs for the movie yet?

I've heard some of the songs, but not all the way through cause the soundtrack hasn't been release yet. Somebody from IMDB posted a video on Youtube about Tiana and Naveen in a Disney on Ice show and they're singing one of their songs from the movie so I think it could be one of those full version kinds that rarely ever gets hard to find before the actual date that they plan on releasing it.

I'm getting mixed vibes from the movie. On the one hand, the main character (someone said her name is Naveen, I believe?) looks to be likable. She's a hard worker in a hectic environment; food service, and she's willing to do some pretty oddball things to help a stranger. Plus, I heard it through the grapevine, but she's a lefty because her VA is a lefty as well. I don't know why the character should match the VA, but I thought it was interesting trivia.
The setting of New Orleans always piques my interest, despite the fact that I know nothing about it. I don't know what it is; the food, the Cajun accent, the scenery, but something about it just exudes mystery. Heck, being Cajun is one of the reasons Gambit is my favorite X-man (not too on topic, but he fits in with the superhero theme of MVA so I made the leap).
On the downside, the prince character looks to be a complete tool bag (not just a single tool, the WHOLE STINKING BAG). I mean seriously, do we need another narcissistic womanizer prince as the male lead? His personality only seems to bolster the attractiveness of Naveen's character. Not only does she help a stranger in a bizarre situation, but the stranger is unattractive both physically AND personally. And if anyone is seriously surprised when he learns to respect Naveen and care for people/creatures other than himself... I really don't think I have to finish that sentence. We all know where I'm going with that, right? Right. Moving on.
It's just way too early to judge. I may or may not go to see it in theatres, but I won't pass it up on DVD.
